Jason Williams wins second place at Word View Exhibition

The Mason-Deerfield Arts Alliance, as part of the "Word View" photography exhibit, awarded second place to "Baptized." Juror Jim Witmer of the Dayton Daily News had this to say about the photograph:

"...a powerful black and white print with undeniable visual impact. I loved the moment, the light, the clean, stark composition, and what tied it all together was the posture of the subject being "Baptized." The photographer's choice was right on in making this black and white, employing colder neutral tones and resisting sepia tones (this would have softened it). It's journalistic quality speaks on many levels."

have 5 pieces of art selected to be exhbited (Baptized, Greed, Anguish, Omen, and Hope) at the "Word View" juried photography exhibition presented by the Mason-Deerfield Arts Alliance.

Exhibition runs May 3rd - 28th
Opening night: May 5th /5pm - 8pm at the Mason Municipal Center. One word, one image - a photograph has the power to evoke a single word or tell an entire story. At times, a picture might do both. The MAAC invites photographers and the community to explore what is written with the camera lens at the spring juried photography exhibition "Word View." Exhibition viewers will rediscover one of humankind's earliest, and perhaps universal, languages as they see these unique images.

Jason Williams to exhibit at new Bethesda North Imaging Center

I have just had three pieces accepted for a year long exhibition at the soon to be open Bethesda North Imaging Center at 10494 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio. The new building set to open in late summer 2009 will house the Mary Jo Cropper Family Center for Breast Care. In conjunction with the grand opening, the Bethesda foundation held the 1st annual juried exhibition for year long installed two-dimensional artwork.

The pieces will be available for purchase through the foundation during the exhibition. The foundation itself will also award eight purchases for permanent installation.

Exhibited pieces include: Baptized, Hope, and Penance.

From the Bethesda Foundation: The installation is meant to create an innovative exhibit of inspiring, two-dimensional work that complements the modern building design and state-of-the-art technology of the new Bethesda North Outpatient Imaging Center which includes the Mary Jo Cropper Family Center for Breast Care. It is the foundation's mission to create a warm and personalized environment for patients as well as promote creative arts in Cincinnati.
